ABOUT

The Hungarian Heritage Festival (aka Hungarian Festival AZ or HunFest) is organized by the Hungarian Cultural Association of Phoenix since 2019. The HCAP is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization.

The Festival’s main purpose is to showcase Hungarian traditions and values for a larger audience, while also serving the local Hungarian community through the opportunity to preserve their language and heritage, build community and have fun.

The previous years in the life of the Hungarian Cultural Association of Phoenix proved a need to celebrate together, to experience the ties that bind us together through our heritage and colorful culture.

We hold our annual Hungarian Festival at the Soleri Amphitheater at Glendale Community College since 2020. We moved it there in order to offer a larger and more spacious area to our visitors.

As our community grew and our Festival became more popular, we added more vendors by offering local and West Coast Hungarian organizations, as well as local non-Hungarian owned organizations the opportunity to showcase their businesses, start dialogue, exchange knowledge and experience.

Our association is an advocate for building dialogue between different nationalities and different cultures. We strive to be a tie between the different ethnic groups and the Hungarian community in the greater Phoenix area. We hope to make everyone feel welcomed, regardless of their ability to speak or understand our language.

You can join the Hungarian Heritage Festival no matter what your nationality or level of knowledge of the Hungarian language is. Your place is there if you are interested in our culture and would like to try authentic Hungarian food, listen to great music and watch some folk dances.

We developed the programs keeping everyone in mind, hoping to help visitors understand our values, culture, unique customs, and historical heritage. The Festival’s purpose is to fit into a broader, regional and international dialogue.

Our programs expand every year to provide quality entertainment for people of all ages.
